BANGKOK, Thailand, October 12, 2026 – Edwards Lifesciences, the global leader in structural heart disease innovation, celebrated 25 years of operations in Thailand, marking a milestone in its longstanding commitment to advancing heart valve care through collaboration with healthcare professionals, hospitals, government agencies, partners and patient communities.

Since establishing its presence in Thailand in 2000, Edwards has worked alongside stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem to help expand treatment options, strengthen clinical capabilities and improve outcomes for patients with heart valve disease. Looking ahead, the company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting broader access to innovation, physician education and healthcare system development.

The “One Edwards Thailand” 25th anniversary celebration was held in September 2026 at Edwards Lifesciences’ Thailand office at Silom Complex, Bangkok. Guests included the Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand and the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM). They were joined by long-standing business partners who have been part of Edwards’ 25-year journey, including the DKSH Healthcare Executive Team and the President of the Thai Medical Device Technology Industry Association (THAIMED). Patients and other stakeholders also attended to share their experiences and reflect on what partnership has meant throughout this journey.

Aaron Rangel, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Public Affairs, JAPAC at Edwards Lifesciences, reflected on the company’s journey in Thailand, “Twenty-five years is a significant milestone. Edwards Thailand is one of the longest-established operations in the region, and our success has always been driven by people and partnership. Together with Thailand’s leading hospitals and medical professionals, we have worked to advance patient care, expand treatment capabilities and strengthen healthcare networks. As the need for innovation and access continues to grow, Edwards remains committed to investing in education, training and technology to help improve the lives of patients.”

25 Years of Innovation and Collaboration

Edwards’ history of innovation dates back to the development of some of the world’s earliest artificial heart valves. Over the past 25 years in Thailand, treatment options have evolved significantly, from surgical heart valves to transcatheter therapies that offer less invasive options for appropriately selected patients.

This progress has been made possible through close collaboration among physicians, hospitals and industry partners. Over the years, Edwards has supported physician education, clinical training and knowledge exchange initiatives that help strengthen treatment capabilities and improve patient care across the country.

Medical leaders at the event highlighted that advancements in heart valve treatment have been driven not only by technology, but also by the commitment of multidisciplinary Heart Teams and the continuous sharing of expertise across institutions. Their collective efforts have contributed to the development of Thailand’s capabilities in structural heart care and helped expand access to advanced therapies.

A Patient Story That Reflects the Impact

Among the highlights of the celebration was the story of an 86-year-old patient who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) at Siriraj Hospital.

Diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis after previously undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery, he received treatment through the hospital’s Structural Heart Team and has since returned to an active and fulfilling life. Six years after the procedure, he continues to volunteer at his local temple and remains closely connected with the healthcare team that supported his recovery. His message to other patients was simple: “If you find out you have heart disease, please see a doctor right away. Even though it is a serious disease, it can be treated.”

Looking Ahead: Expanding Access and Strengthening the Healthcare Ecosystem

In his closing remarks, Parameswaran Nair, Country Leader, Greater India and Southeast Asia, Edwards Lifesciences, emphasized the company’s vision for the future. “As we celebrate this milestone, we thank every employee, physician, healthcare professional and partner who has helped shape our journey in Thailand. Looking forward, we are committed to helping build a more sustainable and inclusive healthcare ecosystem. Through collaboration with healthcare providers, policymakers and other stakeholders, we aim to expand access to innovative therapies, strengthen clinical capabilities across the country and help more patients benefit from life-changing treatment.”

As Thailand’s healthcare needs continue to evolve, Edwards will continue working alongside stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem to advance innovation, improve access to care and support better outcomes for patients living with heart valve disease.
