[SINGAPORE, 12 FEBRUARY 2025]\u00a0Presenter Base Entertainment Asia, together with producers John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia, Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone, are proud to announce the cast who are set to begin performances for the musical phenomenon WICKED at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands from 19 March 2025 for a limited season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The stellar Australian cast is led by Courtney Monsma as Glinda, the bubbly popular girl who becomes \u201cGlinda the Good\u201d, and Sheridan Adams as Elphaba, the girl born with emerald-green skin who grows up to become the \u201cWicked Witch of the West\u201d. Jennifer Vuletic is Madame Morrible, Simon Burke is the Wizard, Liam Head is Fiyero, Paul Hanlon is Dr Dillamond, Chelsea Dean is Nessarose, Kurtis Papadinis is Boq, and Zoe Coppinger is the Elphaba Standby.<\/p>\n

The talented group of performers comprising the WICKED Ensemble and Swings includes Brittany Carter, Olivia Castagna, Matt Cranleigh, Madison Green, Morag Hamilton, Matt Holly, Todd Jacobsson, Elisha Zion Lee, Chloe Malek, Emily Monsma, Thomas Norman, Jayden Prelc, Declan Stewart Ryan, Amelia Sanzo, Antony Sheppard, Ryan Smith, Ksenia Teliatnikova, Lucas Van Rhijn, Regan Walker, Paul Watson, Mietta White, Seb Witt, Jun Woodfield and Kate Yaxley.<\/p>\n

WICKED tells the story of what happened long before Dorothy dropped in, when two other young women meet in the land of Oz. One born with emerald-green skin is smart, fiery, misunderstood and possesses an extraordinary talent. The other is bubbly, blonde, ambitious and exceptionally popular. They become rivals, then friends\u2026until the world decides to call one \u201cgood\u201d and the other one \u201cwicked\u201d. Through powerful music and dazzling performances, the musical uncovers the themes of identity, acceptance, and the nature of good versus evil.<\/p>\n

More than 20 years since its premiere on Broadway, WICKED remains one of the most successful and popular musicals in the world. Winner of over 100 major awards including the Grammy Award, the Olivier Award, six Helpmann Awards, three Tony Awards\u00ae and six Drama Desk Awards. WICKED is \u201cA Complete Triumph! An original musical that will make you laugh, cry and think\u201d (USA Today).<\/p>\n

More than 70 million people worldwide have seen this spectacular phenomenon, and WICKED has become the 4th longest running show in Broadway history.<\/p>\n

The musical has played in 16 countries around the world including Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, The Philippines, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK, and has been translated into six languages.<\/p>\n

The novel Wicked by Gregory Maguire, published in 1995, has sold six million copies, with 5.5 million of those sold since 2003 when the musical opened. Buoyed by the musical\u2019s success, the novel has appeared on bestseller lists for close to two decades since its initial publication. In 2024, the novel returned to the #1 position on The New York Times\u2019 Bestsellers List.<\/p>\n

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production features musical staging by Wayne Cilento with original direction by Joe Mantello. WICKED is produced in Australia by John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia, Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone, and presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia under the direction of Chief Executive Officer Chantal Prudhomme.<\/p>\n
